Main Street Books opened its doors in November 2002, originally at 205 Main Street, only to quickly outgrow that space and evolve into the unique treasure that is presently located at 210 Main Street in Historic Downtown Hattiesburg.
My entrepreneurial spirit and love for my community is just as strong today as it was 17 years ago when we opened our doors on November 15, 2002.
Because of my love for making pottery, pottery classes were added in a studio within the bookstore, open to all ages and for special occasions!
I am truly motivated by a sense of charity that inspired me to bring the 'Empty Bowls' program to Hattiesburg in 2012, a program to feed hungry neighbors with the Edwards Street Food Pantry. I was also inspired to found 'Give a Child a Book' program in 2018 that resulted in 500 books being delivered to area children by Christian Services at their annual 'Birthday Party for Jesus'.
We are excited to not only continue being a part of the family of businesses in Downtown Hattiesburg, but we are excited to share how we are growing and offering more to the Pine Belt than we ever have before. We hope to see you soon!
